This book contains the spiritual teachings of a man whom many believe to have been the most spiritually gifted Filipino healer, the Reverend Antonio Agpaoa. Whatever the case may be, one thing is certain, Agpaoa was the most literate and only Filipino spiritual healer that wrote a book detailing his intimate understanding of the healing ministry of the Holy Spirit. His first hand experience as an instrument of the Holy Spirit gave Agpaoa insights derived from working with the life and death issues of patients who came from throughout the world to see him an a daily basis. In this book, Agpaoa shares his extraordinary understanding of the relationship between the Holy Spirit and the person possessing the spiritual gifts as only he could. As such, this book is a personal testimony to the power of the Holy Spirit from the perspective of the healing ministry first taught by Jesus. Agpaoa was born and raised within the Christian Spiritist stronghold of Northern Luzon. In the mountain provinces of the Philippines he was recognized and revered as a special instrument of God by tribal peoples whom he respected, loved, and protected. The Christian Spiritist culture of the Philippines is a community defined within the context of both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. Recognizing divine healing as the ultimate metaphor of Christian salvation and redemption, Agpaoa brings forth an interpretation of biblical healing that captures the essence of Jesus' healing ministry. In this book, Agpaoa examines the varied relationships that exist between the healer and the patient, the healer and the Holy Spirit, and the patient and the Holy Spirit with amazing clarity. He sheds light on the relationship between moral failings and sickness with a deep insight into the dynamics of spiritual transformation. In this book, the Christian Spiritist doctrine of the Philippines finds its most clear and mature expression. |
